Veronica Gonzalez-Delgado and David Gonzalez who are both freshman (9th grade) students at Eisenhower High School in Yakima, WA received a Silver medal in the Chapter Service Project Display, Junior Category. They competed with 6 other teams from local schools across Washington State. There project was to create mini-posters that were placed in hallways around IKE and a banner that is hung on the railing above the commons to educate and make fellow students, staff, and community members at Eisenhower High School aware of special needs students.
Also, Cameron Chin who is a sophomore (10th grade) student at Eisenhower High School who participated in STAR Events as a facilitator who helped with one of the STAR Events at the state competition. He also represented the Eisenhower HS FCCLA Chapter as a voting delegate at the WA State Leadership Conference and attended the President’s Luncheon with the 2014-15 WA State FCCLA President, Katie Ellis from Lake Stevens High School.
FCCLA is a dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education. This youth organization is planned and run by members. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with family as its central focus. Participation helps members become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities.
