YSD Students Join in World Stacking Event

Students from Gilbert, McClure and Nob Hill elementary schools, and the Discovery Lab School, will help set a new Guinness World Records mark in sport stacking next Thursday, November 14. It will be cup crazy on Thursday as thousands of participants take part in what Guinness World Records terms the “World’s Largest Sport Stacking Event.” During the course of the day, sport stackers from all reaches of the world will be up stacking and down stacking various pyramids in prescribed patterns at lightning speed for at least 30 minutes, all combined with a variety of fitness activities. Sights are set on 500,000 stackers participating as sport stacking with Speed Stacks continues to gain popularity around the world – and our students will be participating! To take part in the record-setting event, schools and organizations around the world are required to register 25 or more stackers with the organization. Once a group completes the 30 minutes of stacking for each participant, the organizer and a witness are required to send in an online verification of numbers.
