The Yakima School District is announcing the addition of a new program for students ages 16 to 21. The program, “Open Doors,” provides re-engagement opportunities for students in the Yakima district whose needs are not met in the traditional high schools or other alternative programs currently being offered. There will be a variety of course offerings and opportunities for connecting with the community.
Students will be able to combine online courses with other academic courses, receive career counseling and goal setting guidance, attend classes at YV Technical Skills Center, and form community partnerships. The program will begin Tuesday, September 2, and run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Interested students are asked to contact Lois Menard, Principal, 573-5581, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
